CHAPTER NO. 03

A look into our intern's creative world

Our next chapter is dedicated to our design intern, Cajsa. Joining us in the design department, this chapter is a window into Cajsa’s creative mind, her unique ideas, and her work here at Baun Studio—offering you a deeper insight into our collaborative process.

Tell us about yourself

My name is Cajsa Nilsson and I am studying to become an international designer in textiles, fashion, and function in Borås. During my studies, I have gained a broad understanding of the entire design process, from idea and research to finished product. I am a creative and solution-oriented person with a genuine interest in people and new perspectives. I enjoy fashion, creative activities, and discovering new places.

What was the core inspiration behind your school projects, and how did they shape your design language?

My inspiration changes depending on the collection, but often comes from past decades, art, architecture, and film. In one of my collections, I was inspired by Japanese streetwear and the film Moonrise Kingdom, where details and silhouettes played an important role.

I enjoy mixing the nostalgic with the modern, which has shaped a design language that feels both familiar and new.

When sketching for Baun Studio, where do you start? Walk us through your journey from the first hand-drawn line to the final technical drawing.

I always start with trend research and close collaboration, especially with Nico. Once the ideas are clear, I begin sketching and developing the garments. After that, I choose materials and colors before creating tech packs and sending them to the supplier. After samples are made, adjustments are done until the garment is finished. It is a process built on teamwork and attention to detail.

Which specific style from your current sketches are you most excited to see come to life in the studio, and why?

I am especially excited about the zebra skirt, as I really like both the silhouette and the print.

I am also looking forward to seeing the shorts in real life, since they include many unique details.

What are the most valuable creative perspectives you hope to take with you from your time at Baun Studio?

I hope to deepen my knowledge of the full design process, especially garment design, and to learn more about how a fashion company works. I look forward to contributing with my curiosity and creative ideas.
